Learjet 60XR
Description
The Learjet 60XR is a Learjet 60 with the Collins Pro Line 21 avionics unit. Cabin layout has also improved. The new cabin design includes a window in the lavatory. In turn, the Learjet 60 was derived from the Learjet 55.
Cabin
The redesigned cabin is where this airplane really shines. Changes include more curvaceous cabinetry, single-seat structure, and upholstery, a cleaner looking headliner with recessed air gaspers, LED lighting, more illuminating window surrounds and a redesigned lavatory with a larger vanity cabinet. The floor plans include an eight-seat configuration with the larger galley. The new galley is the cabin's most impressive monument, and it has been relocated to the left side of the cabin next to the passenger door. This positioning conveys a more spacious atmosphere and accentuates the cabin lines, creating a lengthier appearance. It also provides a noise buffer between most of the passengers and the cabin door, which has an improved seal. The unconventional galley tower houses hot-liquid containers and glassware and provides 6.5 more inches of workspace with natural lighting via an over-the-counter window.
Performance
The 60XR can climb to 41,000 feet in as little as eighteen minutes at gross weight and then cruise at 446 knots. Power to achieve this amazing performance comes from two PW305A engines each offering 4,600 pounds of thrust and using only 204 gallons per hour. The 60XR flight envelope extends up to 51,000 feet. The cabin is rated to 9.8 psi, allowing the 60XR to maintain a sea level cabin at 22,000 feet. Maximum range (while traveling at .78 Mach with four passengers and two crew members) is 2,300 miles.
